Simon and Claire’s Country and Vintage Wedding | Lancashire Wedding Photographer

I am delighted to be blogging about this gorgeous wedding which took place at the end of March.  The ceremony was held at the lovely Ashton Memorial in Lancaster and the reception was held at the delightful Inn at Whitewell.

In the bride’s own words “The wedding had a country, vintage feel. It was full of homemade, personal and quirky touches – friends and family all played a part and we did nearly all of it ourselves – so it was a true celebration of us and all the things we love! We incorporated a VW campervan as transport, our favourite poem ‘The Owl and the Pussy Cat’ as a wedding reading and used vintage wallpapers, tandem bicycle stamps and collected buttons on all the handmade stationery. The bright mismatched bunting was lovingly made by Claire’s Grandma, the décor was full of mismatched jugs, handpicked greenery, hundreds of old books which belonged to Claire’s dad and everyone had an individual china tea cup and saucer.”

After the ceremony we travelled through the beautiful Trough of Bowland, we were blessed with a nice warm day for the time of year and also had a backdrop of a misty sky.  We stopped off a couple of times to utilise the lovely scenery in the background and was even visited by a lovely pony.

If you look at the images below, you will see the stepping stones across the river which are just behind the Inn at Whitewell and if you can’t tell from the images of the stepping stones I am actually in the water-anything for the shot!

The reception was just filled with so much lovely detail I was spoilt for choice.

Everybody had such a good time.

A few kind words from the bride and groom “From the outset, you were so professional, yet relaxed, and we both had absolute confidence in you. We really wanted to capture the atmosphere of our wedding and were keen to keep the photography informal – you did this perfectly. On the day, you were great fun to work with. From the beginning, you helped to create a relaxed atmosphere; we barely knew you were there, proving how professional and unobtrusive you were. We are absolutely delighted with our wedding photos; you have captured some great atmospheric shots, intimate moments and spontaneous photos, which prompt memories of the fun and magic of the day. Once again, a huge thank you from both of us; you have captured the moments which we’ll remember forever and given us a story of our wedding which we can always look back on.” Simon and Claire
