I was delighted recently to be invited to take part in the Woman’s Weekly Centenary celebrations by being asked to be one of the photographers involved in an exhibition of natural beauty, which included photographing one hundred Woman’s Weekly readers.
I was one of the photographers who met four of these wonderful readers and it was a pleasure to meet them and photograph them. A big thanks must go to Catherine Connor (Aspire Photography Training) and to Diane Kenwood (Editor of Woman’s Weekly) for giving me this opportunity.
I photographed Jane Padmore, Gillian Hunt, Janice Ball and Gillian Ball; and the four photographs chosen of these ladies have been exhibited nationally and also at a lovely tea party held at the Woman’s Weekly HQ in London. Together with the photographers, the ladies who were photographed were also invited to the tea party and we all had such a great time drinking tea and eating cake. It was great to meet Diane Kenwood and also Dame Harriett Walter who were both the backbone of the exhibition. It was also great to see all the knitted bunting that was made by the readers, of which there was over 3000 metres, and it graced the inside of the building all up the walls and stair ways it was an amazing sight.
All of the photographs were also in the Woman’s Weekly magazine Centenary edition.
Here are the images of my four ladies and some images (taken with my iPhone) of the exhibition in London and the fabulous bunting:
